Baylissa Frederick is the founder of Recovery Road and the author of the widely successful self-help book, Recovery and Renewal and the memoir, With Hope in My Heart. She is a qualified, BACP registered counsellor with a Master’s degree in Therapeutic Counselling (Integrative).

In response to numerous requests (from individuals affected by benzodiazepine, z-drug and antidepressant withdrawal who feel they need ongoing one-on-one support), Baylissa offers a limited number of confidential support sessions, in the form of consultations.

This is different to formal counselling where deeper issues are usually explored and processed. These support consultations will focus on empowering you with coping tools to effectively manage symptoms and with the opportunity to ask questions about your withdrawal. Baylissa will listen to you without judgement and will validate your experience from a place of understanding, derived from her own experience and the support work she has done over the past decade.

Consultations are also available for spouses, other family members and caregivers who may be supporting you. This will help to prevent or manage issues related to compassion fatigue and burnout and will enable them to understand the process and care for themselves while supporting you.

Baylissa is not a medical doctor and is not qualified to advise or comment on medical treatment you may be receiving, or to supervise tapers off medication. The consultations offered will provide coping and self-care information, encouragement and emotional support.
