My Background
I initally completed my advanced clinical training in Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapy in 2001 and worked as a therapist until coming off Rivotril/clonazepam – a drug prescribed for a form of dystonia that I have had since childhood. I subsequently completed a master’s degree in Integrative Counselling (a combination of Humanistic, CBT, and psychodynamic approaches), and resumed work as a therapist and counsellor. I am now a doctoral candidate in the process of completing my research project. I am also a certified Mindfulness teacher. In addition to my TA psychotherapy and Integrative Counselling, I have had extensive, specialised training and experience in the use of compassion focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma healing, recovery from narcissistic, sexual, domestic, and other forms of abuse, and in working with grief, anxiety and depression.
One of my roles is as a clinical supervisor (APT-accredited and certified) and I now dedicate much of my time to assiting new coaches in setting up their practice and to supporting and mentoring therapists and established coaches. I have been providing workshops and training to counsellors and other professionals for more than a decade and I support them in their work with patients and clients.
