My Background

I initally completed my advanced clinical training in Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapy in 2001 and worked as a therapist until coming off Rivotril/clonazepam – a drug prescribed for a form of dystonia that I have had since childhood. I subsequently completed a master’s degree in Integrative Counselling (a combination of Humanistic, CBT, and psychodynamic approaches), and resumed work as a therapist and counsellor. I am now a doctoral candidate in the process of completing my research project.  I am also a certified Mindfulness teacher. In addition to my TA psychotherapy and Integrative Counselling, I have had extensive, specialised training and experience in the use of compassion focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma healing, recovery from narcissistic, sexual, domestic, and other forms of abuse, and in working with anxiety and depression.

Coaching

I offer a limited number of coaching sessions with priority to members of my community. If you would like to book a session, please see MY CALENDAR. If you would like to become a member of Bloom in Wellness and access coping resources, please see HERE for further details. Thank you. I am sorry that due to the volume of emails I am receiving, it has become humanly impossible for me to reply to queries regarding your healing process.

Therapy

(Please note that I am not accepting new clients at this time.)

Are you facing a difficult period in your life where you are struggling and would like to make changes while being supported?

Many people experience difficulties when faced with stressful or devastating life situations. Family and friends may be able to give well-intentioned advice but this can be inadequate, inappropriate, or lacking in objectivity, and may cause more harm than good. Turning to someone with the right training, experience, and commitment can be helpful.

I offer weekly open-ended and short-term (6 to 8 sessions) one-to-one therapy where I provide a safe and supportive environment that will allow exploration of your concerns with the aim of achieving positive change. It is tailored to each client’s unique experience and therapeutic goals.

No matter what challenges you are facing in life, it is possible for you to be content and to experience joy and fulfilment. Know that your past does not determine your future. You can achieve the things you want in life. Some of the happiest and most content people have endured and overcome immense suffering. This can be an exciting, sometimes tough, but extremely beneficial process and I am here to walk with you as you make your way to where you want to be.

During our initial informal chat, which lasts 15-20 minutes, we will discuss what you hope to achieve from therapy, availability and what time(s) would work best for you, and whether it feels that we are the ‘right fit’ for each other and you would like to proceed. To make this initial appointment, please send an email to info@baylissa.com

I am a registered member of both the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their Ethical Frameworks.
