Book Your Consultation with Dr Baylissa Frederick

Approach and Suitability

Before you book a session, please review the following guidelines to ensure that my approach is the right fit for you.

  • Medical Boundaries and Safety: I provide psychoeducation, coping strategies, and grounding framework support, but I am not a medical doctor. For your safety, I actively encourage medical attention and diagnostics where needed to rule out other causes. If you are not open to seeing a doctor when recommended, or if you expect me to determine the origin of a symptom, my services are not suitable for you.

  • An Active, Directive Approach: My sessions are practical coaching and not a form of therapy. My style is unconventional, sometimes firm and direct. If I notice catastrophic thinking, coercing, or a looping 'withdrawal voice' taking over, I will interrupt the narrative. This is never to minimise your pain, but to actively practice grounding, challenge unhelpful patterns, and bring the focus back to perspective and coping.

  • Honesty over Affirmation: I will not tell you what you want to hear if it is inaccurate or can cause you harm.

  • Mutual Respect & Boundaries: To maintain a safe and productive environment, sessions must be built on mutual respect. If these boundaries are disregarded, I will tell you that I cannot meet your expectations, that I am going to hang up, and I will end the call.

If you feel that my approach might feel upsetting or unsuitable for where you are in your journey right now, please refrain from booking at this time. Thank you for respecting these boundaries.
