Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Coaching & Support with Baylissa Frederick

Benzodiazepine withdrawal can feel frightening, confusing and deeply isolating. Symptoms may be intense, unpredictable and difficult for other people to understand.

Since March 2006, I have supported thousands of people worldwide who are navigating benzodiazepine withdrawal and recovery. My role is to offer informed, compassionate and non-medical coaching to help you cope with what you are experiencing and feel less alone.

How withdrawal coaching may help

Our sessions may include support with:

  • coping with difficult symptoms and overwhelming days
  • organic fear, terror and heightened sensitivity
  • waves, windows and unexpected setbacks
  • reassurance seeking and uncertainty
  • relationships and family understanding
  • rebuilding confidence and navigating everyday life while healing

You will have space to talk openly with someone who understands the withdrawal experience and recognises how profoundly it can affect the body, emotions, thoughts, relationships and sense of self.

A clear non-medical role

I do not provide tapering schedules, medication advice, diagnosis or medical treatment. I will not advise you to begin, stop or alter medication.

Withdrawal coaching does not replace care from a doctor, prescriber or appropriately qualified tapering specialist. My role is to support coping, emotional wellbeing and daily life throughout the healing process.

Support for families and professionals

I also support family members, supporters and professionals who want to understand the withdrawal experience and respond more helpfully.

Professional training for counsellors, coaches and others working with this client group is available through Bay Training Hub.

Private coaching sessions take place by telephone and are available internationally.
