As you navigate your way through the rest of this healing process, see if you can do your best to not allow the negative aspects of withdrawal to overwhelm you to an extent where you discount any good there may be in your life. Don’t let this challenging chapter of your life make you conclude that you have a ‘bad’ life. Yes, there are many things that are painful – devastating even, and definitely ‘not right’ in your life now because of withdrawal, but withdrawal will end. While you patiently wait, see what you can find to be grateful for. If you find this to be difficult, maybe our Morning Meditation can help.

And no matter what emerges next, no matter how many times you stumble and fall as you ride the waves, endure the signs of healing/symptoms, and await the completion of your healing. You must keep picking yourself up and you must keep pressing on. Fall down 7 times, get up 8. It might not be tomorrow or next week or next month (or it might), but the time is coming when you will notice improvements and things will get better. Even if aspects of your life unrelated to this experience are also difficult right now, there is still much to look forward to after this healing process is over, and so you must keep holding on.

In the journey of healing, especially through a challenge like this, perseverance is not just important, it is absolutely vital. Every day that you keep going is a triumph. It’s about embracing the resilience within you, and recognising the strength you possess to endure and overcome the symptoms/signs of healing as well as the repercussions of this experience and the ways in which they impact one’s life. It is also about understanding that healing is not always linear but is inevitable.

There may be many moments of struggle, but they are not indicators of defeat; rather, as you overcome each one, they become reminders that you have everything needed in order to keep going. Each day you press on, you are getting closer to the finishing line. Your courage is commendable, and it speaks volumes about your inner resolve and your commitment to yourself. Well done. These qualities are all part of the good in your life and should not be overlooked.

I know it might be difficult to imagine right now, but the time is coming when you will be so proud of yourself. You will look back on days like today – how you persevered – and wonder how could you have doubted your strength and resilience. You will look back and realise just how courageous and heroic you have been. You will look back and see that by allowing the process while refusing to give in or give up, has transformed your life in the most remarkable ways. So, keep going, even when the path seems arduous, for on the other side of perseverance lies the radiant dawn of your completed healing and the beginning of a new and wonderful life chapter.

Sending much compassion,
